McCluskey Arms is seeking a knowledgeable, customer-focused individual to join our retail team as a Pro Shop Sales Specialist.

This role is responsible for providing knowledgeable, personalized guidance throughout the firearm purchasing process. The Pro Shop Sales Specialist will help customers understand their options, select firearms and related products that fit their individual needs, and provide the high level of service expected from McCluskey Arms. This position requires strong firearms knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work with customers of all experience levels.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide a professional, knowledgeable, and approachable retail experience.

• Ask questions to understand each customer's needs, experience level, intended use, preferences, and budget.

• Guide customers through firearm options and clearly explain relevant features, differences, and considerations.

• Provide personalized recommendations without creating a high-pressure sales environment.

• Assist customers with firearms, optics, ammunition, accessories, and other products offered by McCluskey Arms.

• Maintain familiarity with current inventory, new products, manufacturers, and industry developments.

• Assist customers throughout the firearm purchasing, transfer, and pickup process.

• Build lasting customer relationships through knowledgeable, attentive, and personalized service.

• Assist with POS transactions, merchandising, inventory organization, and maintaining a clean, professional showroom environment.

• Coordinate with the Pro Shop Concierge, gunsmithing team, and management to ensure customers receive accurate information and seamless service.

• Follow all company policies related to firearm handling, customer identification, background checks, transfers, and recordkeeping.

• Support ATF, FFL, and internal compliance procedures as directed by management.

Responsibilities:

- Barrel threading and chambering

- Optic cuts and slide machining

- Design and manufacture custom parts

- Bluing and parkerizing ​

- Customize, modify, and repair a variety of firearms including but not limited to 1911s, AK Platform, VEPR-12/Saiga-12, pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns.

- Ensure all work complies with ATF regulations and maintain accurate records.​

- Communicate with customers about quotes, timelines, project updates, and advice on additional services if necessary

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in gunsmithing with a focus on precision machining and custom firearm work.​

- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines for firearm applications.​

- Strong understanding of firearm mechanics, and ballistics.​

- Familiarity with ATF regulations and compliance requirements.​

This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient customer experience from the moment a client walks in, calls, or makes a purchase. The Pro Shop Concierge will greet customers, answer phones, assist with retail sales, run background checks, support FFL transfers and pickups, and help maintain a clean, professional showroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a professional, welcoming first impression.

• Answer phones and route customer questions to the appropriate team member.

• Check customers in for retail purchases and transfers.

• Assist with basic retail sales, merchandising, and showroom organization.

McCluskey Arms is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and sales-focused Gunsmithing Service Advisor to serve as the primary point of contact between our customers and gunsmithing team.

This position is responsible for guiding customers through the gunsmithing process—from identifying their needs and recommending appropriate services to preparing quotes, creating work orders, providing updates, and completing checkout.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and determine their firearms service, repair, customization, or maintenance needs.

• Recommend appropriate gunsmithing services based on the customer’s firearm, intended use, concerns, and budget.

• Make gunsmithing sales and identify relevant opportunities to recommend additional services, parts, accessories, cleaning, inspections, or upgrades.

• Clearly explain available services, pricing, expected outcomes, and estimated turnaround times.

• Prepare accurate quotes using established labor rates, service pricing, and parts costs.

• Create complete and accurate work orders that clearly document the customer’s concerns, requested services, firearm information, condition, and accessories received.

• Check firearms and other customer property in and out while following established safety, documentation, and identification procedures.

• Collect deposits and payments and accurately process customer transactions.

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with service questions, quotes, work-order updates, and general inquiries.

• Respond promptly and professionally to customer texts and emails.

• Communicate with gunsmiths to clarify customer requests, obtain technical information, confirm pricing, and provide customers with accurate updates.

• Contact customers when additional work, parts, or authorization is required.

• Maintain accurate records of customer communications, approvals, quotes, payments, and work-order status.

• Ensure customers understand the work performed, applicable care instructions, and any recommendations made by the gunsmithing team.

• Follow up on open quotes, pending approvals, completed work, and firearms awaiting pickup.

• Keep the customer counter, intake area, and related workspaces clean, organized, and professional.

• Help resolve customer concerns calmly, professionally, and within company policies.

• Support other customer-service, administrative, and sales functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, email, text-messaging platforms, and customer-management software.

• Dependable, organized, professional, and able to work effectively with both customers and gunsmiths.

• Previous experience in customer service, sales, firearms retail, automotive service advising, repair intake, or a similar service-based position is preferred.
